MY INSANITY OF LIFE!

There is a song of Donna Summer that goes:

She works hard for the money
So hard for it honey
She works hard for the money
So you better treat her right

You may feel peppy dancing to the tune but you may not get the gist of it. Maybe when your sweat is free flowing on your body then you may comprehend how hard it is to earn money and you should be treated right. I need to underscore, yes treated RIGHT, not like underdogs or lame ducks as though you have the right to hold my life forever.

If you work hard and adhering to the rules, you’ll be rewarded. That is bullshit! A baloney! Only gullible people believe in this statement. If it did not happen, then don’t ever expect it to happen. For sure, that will only create a havoc of frustrations and hundreds of thin lines on your pretty or handsome face. Never believe in promises, they are meant to be broken.

When I was actively involved in the local governance in Pasig, I formulated programs and have these sponsored by the some Honorable Men and Women who just sit their ass and wait for 15th and 30th to receive their pay. With all the accolades decorated on their names, with all the smiles of grandeur, with all the dirty jobs I have done to give them credits, nobody dared to say, “Beth, thank you.”  These people that I worked with were unscrupulous and apathetic. Was I persona non grata to their territory? It is still fresh in my mind that I plotted a sub rosa campaign just to out seat a particular person in favor of a dear friend that it caused my integrity and my job. When the battle started, I was alone with my fight. It was hard fight, fighting demagogues. It was a fight that up to this moment I shiver to the thought of remembering it. That was the old baggage of the past that keeps on haunting me. I promised myself not to get involve with politics anymore. Working for them is pain in the ass. They are just bunch of retarded people who are megalomaniac to stay in power. Happy trigger turning their small fiefdom into a horror of tyranny. And what do we get? Their doo doo. Of course, I had a good political ally but he is dead. Dead man can tell no tale. I had a family friend that I admire so much. No other than, retired 5 Star Gen. Roy Cimatu. He is a brother to me much more than a friend.

I am now involved in a call center environment. It is a fast pace life. When you look at the clock then you realized you are extending time beyond your limits…gratis! Is this a love of labor? Or is this an abuse that you predispose to yourself just to beat whatever is deliverable? I have been toggling with the Management that somehow those staff that deserve recognition should also be given just a tiny appreciation. I am not against any persons or any individuals. It is not my forte to go to “ad hominem argument” because I am not perfect.I have my flaws. I often said, “trabaho lang ‘to walang personalan” Giving recognition is an old habit. I believe this is the best form of conveying gratitude for the contribution in the company. I was not able to attend the General Assembly last Tuesday. I heard that the Management will be giving recognition to Supervisor/Staff who has exemplary performance. Let’s us give this round of applause. A thundering applause to the Managers who who sweated blood to embrace the people under them. If I am still with politics I can pass a resolution commending their unequivocal leadership.

I maybe straightforward and I may offend people yet in any company straightening issues is just a natural approach for a healthy working relationship. People empowerment is not a matter of command because you are in a higher position but is a matter of listening and communicating effectively.

I maybe the kind of person who defies rules or dogma at work but still I want to take my job seriously within my shift. When I see these ninja turtles with their mavericks avoiding their responsibilities, I get totally berserk. Why? because it is too unfair for those supervisors who are doing their job religiously but during pay day, we get the same amount of pay. Where is parity here? If some of them cannot even follow simple rules then why should accept the position.

Others may say, laissez faire but I say be SMART and act professionally.  Putting my heart and soul to my job, is the only indulgence I can give to my children, the people that I work with and to God.

I have tons of insanity maybe but look how much insanity Steve Jobs has!
