RODELIA WELLS: ON THE WINGS OF LOVE

Love never stops there where you leave the trails of pitfalls behind. Where we leave the bad memories of married life to once we call, “for better or worse, for richer or poorer” because it doesn’t work at all! We don’t have to look back at the past but look again for someone to fill the hole in our heart. Paint that heart again with a rainbow colors. Put twinkle in our eyes and a glow on our face. 

This happened to Rodelia Wells. She was married twice but along the pathways of her married life, it did really not work at all. The last marriage she had was with James Richard Wells in 2007. She met this guy when she was still working in Singapore. They separated in 2009 due to psychological incapacity and financial issues.  They don’t have kids. She has three bubbling kids with her first marriage. They are all grown-ups. Her daughter, Honey Mae who is the eldest among her kids is QAA in Touch Commerce. Whenever they are together, they are just like sisters. Her second child, Andrew, 24 years is still schooling and taking up IT. James, his youngest is 18 also taking-up IT at ACT. 

Here in the Philippines you cannot just ditch out your partner because the Catholic Church is against divorce but annulment of marriage is granted. So what is the difference? It is simply a world of turmoil of humdrum living in agony with a partner you don’t want to see for the rest of your life. In the case of Rodelia Wells, she is free as the wind. Free as the bird seeking for a soulmate, trying to find the right guy whom she can live for a lifetime. She is on the wings of love. She told me she compares herself like a “Bird” –adventurous plus the liberty to travel to different places.  On the grand scale, she just wants freedom to choose what she wants to do right for herself without so many restrictions.

Rodelia as you may know can whip you down sometimes with her being candid and blunt but as time passed, she is controlling her mouth as not to offend other people. I can still recall when we were in Quality she had hundred of punch lines or maybe pun statements. She gets nasty too sometimes☻ .If you get the meaning, then you laugh out loud. If you don’t, then your face will turn quizzical.  I know deep inside it one way of going out from a depression, loneliness and the melancholy of love.  When she is in her gloomy or doom state, she loves to shop. Before, she would vent her depression in eating voraciously. Stomach is indeed a good for the brain. I observed she is much conscious about her diet, eating nutrients food and conscious about her figure. I got an ounce of belly because I like to look chubby not thin but her figure is more like of teenager ♥♥♥. She goes to the gym to work-out and shed calories. I bet that is one way of attracting a guy (hahaha). I should learn one thing from this. 

Oprah Winfrey is the favorite personality of Rodelia. Oprah is an epitome of a strong woman who struggled so hard from rag to riches and who teaches us to be humble although we have new pair of  shoes. She loves her because she is beautiful inside and outside. At her matured age, she knows how to look beautiful and gorgeous. 

Rodelia is more attracted to red color. She said it affects mood and can easily be seen among the crowd.  Oblivious to her red color also symbolize being “hot”. She is one hot mama as described by her colleagues. Red can speak of war also but this depends on what mystery in red she wants to symbolize. 

Hmmm aside from working out, she also likes to relax, go for a walk and internet surfing. Does internet surfing means she is haunting for her “Adonis” or for a soulmate that can fill the hollowness in her heart. This is one question that she only knows the answer. When the world is getting smaller due to high technology communication system, thousand of guys also come online to seek for their soulmate. May she find what she really wants. In love sometimes, you have to take risk. I know she always take risk, and then be broken hearted but she never quits indeed. What an indomitable heart!

I asked what is the meaning of love to her. It was hard for her to define. Love is an imaginary line that sometimes it is hard to express what it is. However within the heart, it is just there beating, bouncing and desiring until you fall for love again. 

EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND:

Rodelia is my colleague in Qualfon. I first met her when I was in Quality Department in 2010.  Our lives there were so complicated understanding and adjusting to the kind of leadership from one QA sup to another. Yet, despite of all the challenges, we made it to the Operations Department.

Rodelia started working in Qualfon in 2007. He was in legacy for a matter of more than 2 years. She applied for QAA in 2010 and stayed in QA department for 5 months. She has been a Supervisor for 1 year and 2 months.

The most challenging position she has is being a Supervisor because it deals with different attitude of the agents, people around the Operations especially the Managers. Modesty aside, the performance that needs to be maintained. What she likes about Qualfon is that account is very easy, lots of friends and has  hoi polloi working environment.  She wishes that there are some changes in the management like giving recognition to deserving staff to motivate them to render more exemplary performance.
