Chapter XXIV: The Legacy: The Dawn of the Fallen Angels

What was Alan up to made me freaking cranky inside. He acted with indifference now. Just a while ago, he was in his most congenial mood and enjoying competing powers with me. Maybe I made him furious when I overpowered him. My blood was boiling and my body temperature was burning like an inferno. The good thing, I managed to maintain my equanimity of mind. I was now disciplining myself to control my emotions, especially anger.  I was sitting still and quiet inside the limousine while on our way to Bethany Hotel yet my senses were attuned to the relativity of the sounds of the universe. I was ready to pump my adrenalin to maximum limits in the event the enemies attacked us. So far on our way, I don’t feel something peculiar. The road was clear. I breathe deeply and look through the tinted window. The roads were jam-packed with buses, cars, taxis and most of all people composed of different nationalities. Going there and here, going back and forth, working too hard for the money.

“I shield the limousine with invisible wall. No one can harm us not until we reached the hotel where right there your mission starts.” stressed Joey.  Joey was sitting next to me. He moved a little bit closer and whispered into my left ear. “You will see Alan soon.”  My face got red the mention of Alan but to my chagrin, I pretend not to hear anything.  Cody was driving the limousine like a rocket. In few minutes, we were at Bethany Hotel.

Bethany Hotel was a world class 5 star hotel with excellent amenities. The ambiance inside the hotel was illuminating glow of chandeliers hanging on the ceilings. The walls were painted with light beige colors and well furnished with sophisticated and expensive furniture and fixtures. In the lobby, there were paintings of Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Leonardo Da Vinci and Michael Angelo to name some. The floors were carpeted with beige colors that matched the wall. The interior also was inspired combination of Victorian and abstract architecture. The hotel was a splendid design to marvel with.

I preferred to take Suite 2400 at the 24th floor instead of the suite that was reserved for me. It was an easy access for me to go to the rooftop and made a meticulous surveillance with my telescopic eyes the perimeter of the building if we were under siege. Two housekeepers tagged along with me and carried my suitcases to Suite 2400. I instructed them to leave my personal belongings and I would be the one to put my clothing and accessories in the shelves. They smiled and left me.  With a sudden impulse, I shouted at them, “Hey wait. I give both of you a tip.”  They both answered, “It is not necessary, Abby.”  My eyebrows met for seconds then I spoke, “I fathom you are angels disguising as housekeepers?”  They smiled at me and left without saying any words. “Hmm, I never imagined that even here I am well protected with angels,” I was talking to myself again.

After I organized my personal things in the closet, I took a shower. I let the cold water ran through my body. I scrubbed my pinkish skin with loofah and with liquid soap in it to remove the dirt and the dust sticking in my body.  Then I shampooed my long blond curly hair. Then afterwards rinsed with water. I felt so fresh and relax. When I went out of the bathroom, I was stunned to see a purple rose on my bed with a note on it.  It said, “I am meeting you halfway, Abby.”  Automatically, I transmitted a message to him. “I am ready to meet you halfway, Alan. Where are you now?”

“See me at the rooftop,” Alan responded.

My spine almost twisted with excitement. I could hear my heart racing in a hurdle. My stomach was churning acid that I felt like I was going to vomit gases. No amount of words could describe my feelings. It was a hiatus moment for me.  In a soft whisper, “I meet you at the rooftop.” I immediately changed to denims, white collared t-shirt and white rubber shoes. I sprayed myself with Idylle perfume-a blend of mild lilies, peonies and roses. Again in small whisper I said, “I am ready to meet you.”

In split seconds, I was at the rooftop. For the first time, we saw each other in flesh. He was gloriously standing in the broad day light. His dark brown hairs were tossed by the gusty winds. His skin tanned. His violet eyes like mine were staring admirably at me. He was clad in leather black pants; body fit light blue shirt and black rubber shoes. The tight shirt he wore emphasized his masculine physique. He looked matured at his age of 12.  I was melting like a candle-running out of breath. He was absolutely gorgeous.

He walked close to me, held out his right hand for a handshake and introduced his self to me. “I am Alan. Glad to finally meet you, Abigail.” His voice was soft but charming.  I accepted his handshake but surprisingly he pulled me close to him. I was motionless and speechless. I met his gaze. The magnitude of the gaze made my whole body shivered. My sweat was cold as blood. I pushed him away. “Something wrong?” he asked.  I turned away from him to avoid staring back at his gaze. “Tell me what you see, Abigail.” He urged me more to speak. I bluntly responded, “It is the future event that will take fold.”
